Service  opportunities

Administrative
Administration provides coordination for the service ministries of EBF. It also seeks out and arranges for volunteers to perform various tasks in the church office.
WAYS TO SERVE:
  • Answering phones
  • Staff reception desk
  • Making and delivering photocopies and literature
  • Folding and collating bulletins and newsletters
  • Preparing mailings
  • Communicating various needs and requests with deacons

Building & Grounds
Leaders: Rich Carroll (Building), Kim Wenger (Grounds)
Our Building and Grounds ministry organizes maintenance for all EBF physical property. This would include preparing preventative maintenance schedules and building a team of members to complete the projects or hire sub-contractors for larger projects.

Food Cupboard
Leader: Mary Siel
Our food cupboard provides nonperishable food supplies to meet the basic needs of people both inside and outside of the church family.

Greeters & Newcomers
​Leaders: John and Alice Tyler (Greeters)
Our greeting ministry welcomes and cares for each person who expresses interest in the church. We are committed to demonstrating the love and grace of Jesus Christ to all who visit without creating an obligation to join.
WAYS TO SERVE:
  • Greet people prior to church gatherings
  • Provide help at the information counter
  • Make follow-up calls to those who fill out Response Forms
  • Send cards to those who have not attended for a period of time
  • Setup refreshments for Newcomer classes

Helping Hands Home Repair
Leader: Rich Carroll
Our Helping Hands ministry serves those with necessary needs around their homes by providing cost-free repairs to those who cannot afford to pay for them.
WAYS TO SERVE:
  • Carpet and tile installation
  • Auto repair
  • Appliance repair
  • Drywall, wallpapering, and painting
  • General carpentry
  • Plumbing and electrical work
  • Roofing
  • Concrete work
  • Yard maintenance

Hospital & Visitation
Leader: Elders
Our Hospital and Visitation ministries serve by providing camaraderie, comfort, spiritual encouragement, and practical aid to those struggling with physical infirmities, whether in the hospital or at home.
WAYS TO SERVE:
  • Volunteer to go on home or hospital visits
  • Read the Scripture and pray with patient and/or family members
  • Send greeting cards, flowers, or balloons
  • Offer to make bouquets of cut flowers from your yard
  • Evaluate whether other EBF ministries are needed and coordinate with the Prayer Chain, Meals, and Elders

Hospitality
Leader: Carolyn Rust
Our Hospitality ministry prepares and provides meals and refreshments for our gatherings so that the ministry of the Word can flourish.

Library
Leader: Marlene Perling
Our Library ministry provides and organizes quality Christian literature to enhance the growth of people's love for God and others.

Meals
Leader: Carolyn Rust
Our Meals ministry seeks to serve families at EBF during times of illness, surgery, birth of a child, or other stressful life circumstances by providing meals that are "ready-to-eat" (heat and serve).
WAYS TO SERVE:
  • Be on a list to be called to prepare and deliver meals
  • Cook a meal - sometimes on short notice (you pick the day!)
  • Purchase prepared meals such as take-out or delivery food from restaurants
  • Call people and organize the distribution of meals (no cooking required!)

Prayer Chain
Leader: Evelyn Malpass
Our Prayer Chain ministry seeks to inform those in the ministry to pray for the needs presented by members of the church.
WAYS TO SERVE:
  • Be on a list to receive phone and/or email requests
  • Pray diligently
  • Give thanks and praise for answers to prayer
  • Keep prayer requests confidential as requested
  • Encourage others to pray
  • Testify to God's power and faithfulness, thus encouraging others to trust in the Lord and cry out to Him, too

Ushers
Leader: Karl Felten
Our Ushers serve during EBF gatherings as needed.
WAYS TO SERVE:
  • Greet people at the doors of the Worship Center on Sunday mornings
  • Hand out Sunday Worship bulletins
  • Help people find available seating during Sunday services and other gatherings
  • Take the offering on Sunday during Worship Service (as needed, not always every week)
  • Pass out the elements of Communion (once a month)
  • Be available to assist in time of emergency, being knowledgeable of medical personnel and procedures within EBF
  • Be on call during a service or event when something is needed (directions to restrooms, etc.)
  • To be available, whatever the task, and know the appropriate action to be taken
