What a strange Sunday! I sat in my car this morning and recorded a sermon, which I hope will be edifying, even if it is a weird thing to do. You can download or read it on our sermons page.
I want to fill you all in on a few things which are happening today.
First, the elders are meeting to discuss how we can best serve one another during this strange time and how we can best benefit you all in our mutual desire to glorify God, proclaim our hope in Christ, and love our neighbors well. Please pray for us. Ask the Lord to grant us wisdom, compassion, faith, and courage. After our meeting, we will provide an update with our thoughts and plans regarding a way forward in the coming weeks.
In the mean time, please know that we recognize that we believe it is a kindness towards one another, and towards you neighbors, to limit personal contact as you able during this pandemic. Though we are not afraid to face into death, we also recognize that love does not put others at risk where we can avoid it. We trust God, and we wear our seat belts.
A few people have already commented to us about the benefit of our new RightNowMedia subscription. We would encourage you to take advantage of this new opportunity to hear, discuss, and appropriate the Word through the resources there. If you are unaware of this, please check out the tab above under "Resources". Eric gave parents a good start below (scroll down), too.
Finally, I wanted to provide a copy of a liturgy for healthcare workers, so that we might know how to pray for those who are under intense stress at this moment of needed service.
Together with you,
