Emerald Bible Fellowship: Impacting our community by making lifelong followers of Jesus Christ

FAQ: Frequently Asked Questions

Does EBF have a midweek service?

We purposely do not have a midweek worship service. Instead, we ardently encourage participation in our vital Home Group Ministry. For more information see our Home Groups ministry page.

What is the teaching style on Sunday mornings?

The pulpit teaching is typically expository in nature. The Bible is taught verse by verse, book by book, and will emphasize the person and work of Jesus Christ.  We believe that the gospel of Jesus is the power of God and the glory of God and that that unbelievers are redeemed and believers are transformed into Christ's image as we gaze into the gospel in the face of Jesus.

What do people normally wear to services at EBF?

EBF is a very eclectic group of believers.  The general tenor is casual.  Some of us wear jeans and t-shirts, some wear slacks and collars, and a few wear more formal attire.  Come in what you're used to wearing.  We strongly believe that it's not the style of clothing that is important, but rather the heart's attire of humility.

Is Communion part of the Sunday morning service?

Communion is celebrated on the last Sunday of each month.

Are infants baptized at EBF?

No. We believe that the decision to be baptized should be made by professing believers in Jesus. We do however “dedicate” babies and small children. This is a public statement by the parents that they desire to raise their children in a God honoring way and an acknowledgment that children of Christian parents benefit from the blessings of the Church in a way that sanctifies them (1 Cor 7:14).

Is EBF connected with any larger organization?

No. EBF is an independent, non-denominational church. For more information check out our HISTORY page. We will, however, often work with other organizations in an effort to glorify God through gospel proclamation.

Does EBF rent out the building for weddings for people who do not attend EBF?

No. The building that our church meets in is designed to enhance our worship and praise of God. Therefore, we view it as a testimony to our community of Christian values and beliefs, and not as a wedding chapel.

Does EBF rent out the building or rooms in the building to outside groups?

No. Our building is reserved for our ministry use.
